This past summer, the IHC in collaboration with the Social Work program at Bethlehem University (BU) sponsored the second part of the course: Empowering and Healing Battered  Women and Children. Attendees included social workers, nurses and educators from the greater Bethlehem area. This 6 week course was taught by Dr. Lori Rudolph, who is a clinical counselor and member of the IHC. Course topics included: Screening for intimate partner violence and abuse history in the clinical setting; safety planning with intimate partner violence victims; assessment in preparation for treatment intervention; and clinical intervention, including trauma,  for women victimized by intimate partner violence. The third part of this course, which will focus on working with children, will be offered throughout the month of January.
